Is the new age harmless?

Racism in the new age!

But it can even get worse than that! There also exists downright but sometimes denied or hidden racism in some popular occult new age philosophies. And not many people adhering to theosophy are really aware of it but the founder of theosophy, Madame blavatsky actually had some blatant racist views on human races and like many other Europeans of her time, admired the Aryan race as being superior to other races as in her book The Secret Doctrine she wrote:

"Mankind is obviously divided in god-informed men and lower human creatures. The intellectual difference between the Aryan and other civilized nations and such savages as the South Sea Islanders, , is inexplicable on any other grounds. No amount of culture, nor generations of training amid civilization, could raise such human specimens as the Bushmen, the Veddhas of Ceylon, and

some African tribes, to the same lintellectual level as Aryans, the Semites, and the so-called Turanians. The "sacred spark" is missing in them and it is they who are the inferior races on the globe, now happily owing to the wise adjustment of nature which ever works in that direction fast dying out. Verily mankind is "of one blood", but not of the same essence. We are the hot-house, artificially quickened plants in nature, having in us a spark, which in them is latent."

Well, the only "spark" that I can detect in someone like her is that of self-glorifying arrogance about her own race. Today we would rightfully call her a white supremacist. I guess that supremacists feel awfully good about themselves for thinking to be raised above others be it that their ideas are biased and based on extreme, subjective and erroneous chauvinism. But her nastty wish for nature to take care of the extinction of certain peoples is of course downright wicked and completely unworthy of any civilized human being, even thought she liked to classify herself as such.
