Political prisoners in the "land of the free"

On the FBI website, both Coler and Williams are mentioned in their Hall of Honor, and perhaps rightly so, because as I said, not many people know what happened there and we don't know how reliable witnesses actually are, and I guess you could say that they were killed in the line of duty, but it's still very strange that no authority has so far ever taken an interest in the

Joe Stunz, the young Indian man, killed in the incident. To this day the authorites don't care about him, even though he was no less a human being than Coler or Williams

death of Joe Stunz. But why not? It can't be because it was so many years ago, because only recently the extradition was demanded from Canada of John Graham for the murder on Anne Mae which happened that same year in 1975. However, the most striking thing about all these cases is the people convicted were convicted without any forensic evi-

dence, only witness accounts and jury verdicts. Isn't it just strange, that in this modern day and age, in the 21st century, verdicts are made on just witness accounts and not on forensic evidence while today they are such experts on these things like DNA and ballistics? We wester-ners tend to criticize islamic courts for relying on witness accounts and swearing on the Quran, but how are we different in this if we make people say "I will say the truth, the whole truth

and nothing but the truth, so help me God"? But does this in any way guarantee that people are not going to lie? No, not at all. We can only say that it is lying under oath, but you need to find out first. The death of Anne Mae Pictou Aquash is in fact as vague, foggy, dark and myste-rious as that of John F. Kennedy. Although none of the witnesses of the assassination of the American president are still alive today, revea-ling who the killer was might open a can of worms that some circles still want to protect. And would O.J. Simpson have gotten away with his trial if he hadn't been a celebrity? And if he didn't do it, then who did kill Nicole and why have all investigantions stopped since he was equitted? Don't they think that Nicole's family would want to know who'd done it if not Simpson?
