Hall of Shame

Kevin Costner (born 1955)

American actor, director and singer. As far as I know Costner is just a white man with a tiny little drop of Cherokee blood in him but for some reason he managed to get enrolled in a Lakota tribe in advance of his director's debute Dances With Wolves, claiming that he "loved the Lakota people". This assured him of the cooperation of most of the Indian actors he worked with who at the time saw him as a friend, apart from the individuals who already felt a telling mistrust. After he made the film he walked up to the Elders, telling them that he wanted to build a casino at the foot of the Black Hills. Not surprisingly the Elders told him no, as the Black Hills are sacred and at the foot of them is a burial ground. "I will do it anyway", Costner said. And he did!

Who would do such a thing?

This casino is still there and as if the complete desecration of what the Lakota hold sacred after the carving of presidential faces in Paha Sapa (Mount Rushmore to white people) he also added another slap in the face of his Lakota "friends" by calling this casino The Dunbar, after the character of John Dunbar that he played in Dances With Wolves.

As already expected, multi-millionair Costner never shared any of the profits from any of his many casino's with his "beloved Lakota friends" of which many have to survive harsh South Dakotan winters without proper heating or even electricity so who was saying it's Indians who are getting loaded from casino's?

Not surprisingly Costner got disenrolled but if he doesn't like Indians, can he just stay away from them instead of playing this hateful and  dirty trick on them?
